Promotional Wireless Chargers Samsung & Android Devices
It’s not too often I get around to writing a blog after a personal experience, but on this occasion I feel compelled to. If you have an android device, specifically a Samsung Galaxy then there is the option to charge via a wireless phone charger. I had never really given this much consideration until that moment I couldn’t get my charging cable into the charging port, with just 3% of battery left and a phone I rely on for business purposes this was less than ideal. Having spoken extensively to both my service provider (EE) and Samsung, their recommendation was to take the ‘phone in store for a data transfer so it could be sent away for repair. Hmmm how does that work exactly? 3% battery is insufficient to do a data transfer, and anyway it was not possible to insert a cable into the device to do this.
After a lengthy conversation in EE I finally asked the question as to whether they had a branded wireless charger, evidently the staff weren’t well versed with equipment in store, but they eventually had a light bulb moment and realised that they did sell such a piece of equipment (unfortunately hopes were dashed as these had been recalled), however, it transpired there was a fixed wireless charger in-store that saved the day, allowing the Galaxy S7 Edge to be charged sufficiently to do a data transfer. The charging problem is apparently not uncommon with the Galaxy S7 Edge.
The moral of this story is that I will definitely be investing in a a promotional wireless phone charger as I do not want to risk being in a situation where I cannot transfer my data to another ‘phone; for data protection reasons any ‘phone sent for repair goes through a factory re-set process where all existing data is wiped. I must say on this occasion I am glad I did not opt for an iPhone as this does not have the facility to charge via a wireless phone charger.
